10 week race training
Week 3

Good breeze and good sailing conditions in general. The focus was on upwind setup and a few starts in practice for the Youth Championships this weekend.

Key points to remember upwind:
- Sit forward, really important to reduce drag
- Outhaul on, a deep sail with no Outhaul on will not allow you to point well
- Traveller tight, this ensures the block moves across the boat to the corner

Starting:
- Stay close to the line during the starting sequence
- Be aware of tide pushing you over the line or away from the line

The training will still go ahead this Sunday (25th) even with a large number going to the Youth Championships. Good luck to everyone going to the event!
