Junior Training is scheduled every Saturday until December. Saturday past provided excellent conditions and sailors practiced their light airs sailing with roll tacks, some taking it too far and ended up with a capsize! I’ll mention no names! Also follow the leader, some racing starts and short windward/leeward races.
This coming week looks fresher, and sailors are reminded to bring suitable clothing such as hats and extra layers. Starts are a big part of racing, therefore sailors should also have a digital watch with them where possible. Rigged and changed for briefing at 11am sharp.
Again, parents and others are asked to help out where possible/available:
The junior training cannot take place without other volunteers, please help where you can.
See you next week when Mary Farrell will be head coach.

A reminder to get your tickets in time for the Annual Dinner which takes place next Saturday 22nd at 8pm.
Also, lets try and get as many boats as possible out on the water for the commodores cup. It’s a perfect opportunity to blow away the cobwebs and make the nights celebrations feel a little more deserved.
The warning signal is at 2pm on Saturday 22nd.

Congratulations to all who took part in the junior regatta. A gallery has been added and you can click here for the Junior Regatta Results.
Congratulations also to Sean Ritson, Owen McKinley, Niall McLaughlin, Jane Emerson Oran McCarthy and Jack McCann who took part in their first RYA Youth Championships this weekend. The Topper Squad scored two top 15 finishes with Sean Ritson finishing 7th overall and Owen McKinley finishing 15th. This was a great result for CSBC considering there was a Topper fleet of over 60 boats. Jack McCann retired injured, (‘duck’ next time you gibe Jack,) Niall McLaughlin scored a very credible 22nd, Jane 37th and Oran 42nd.
David Hopkins finished 4th overall in the Laser 4.7′s.
